Smartphones have become an addiction these days. You would hardly find any person who doesn’t own one! Nowadays, even young kids proudly flaunt their phones; gone are those days when there used to be nothing but just those landline phones and were meant to be used only in times of emergencies.

Since these phones allow easy browsing, people have gone crazy and 24×7, you will find them hooked to their handsets. But what if the addiction increases to such an extent that it literally claims the life of another person? You might be thinking that we are exaggerating things, but no; such an incident has come to light and you will be shocked to read it.

Well, a newly-wed woman named Surekha (20) killed her mother in-law, Phoolwati, just because she didn’t allow her to use the mobile phone, can you believe that?

Surekha, a resident of Bhiwani district’s Premnagar Colony cooked up a story about her mother-in-law’s murder, but later when the police interrogated her, she confessed this crime.

It was Phoolwati’s husband who called up the police and informed about this, when he saw his wife covered in a pool of blood and Surekha lying unconscious. He rushed them both to the nearby hospital, but there, doctors declared Phoolwati dead.

Now, Surekha had given a wrong statement that it was 2 masked men who entered the house and tried attacking them both. However, police officials couldn’t believe Surekha’s version and called her for interrogation.

It was during the investigation session that Surekha revealed she had killed her mom in-law with an iron rod, just because she wasn’t letting her use the phone. Now, police has arrested her! She complained that she couldn’t take up Phoolwati’s taunts every now and then.

An eight-month-old boy is lucky to be alive after he was stabbed 90 times by his mother, mostly in the face, for biting her while she was breastfeeding.

Xiao Bao needed more than 100 stitches after the incident in Xuzhou, eastern China’s Jiangsu Province.

The infant lives with his mother and two uncles, who make a living recycling rubbish. It was one of the uncles who discovered Xiao Bao lying in a pool of blood in the yard of their home and rushed him to hospital.

The child’s mother later confessed that she stabbed the baby after he bit her during breastfeeding.
Neighbours have pleaded with the local government to take the baby away, but they have said that they will not.

Apparently, they said that there was no confirmation the mother was suffering from a mental illness and said, regardless, the baby still has two guardians in the form of his two uncles.

Mental illness remains a relatively closed topic in modern China, and neither medication nor modern psychiatric treatment is widely used.

And there are way too many people who have a habit of biting nails. While some of them are conscious enough to stop it from realizing it’s bad, there are some who continue biting their nails simply because they are aadat se majboor.

Biting nails is not only a sign of anxiety and nervousness but also cause major health problems. It can increase the risk of cold, cough and other illness as you unconsciously put your unwashed hands in your mouth. This habit can also raise the risk of infections around the nails which can lead to serious skin problems. But the problems aren’t restricted only to your skin or minor infections.

John Gardner, a 40-year-old man had this bad habit of biting nails and continued doing it despite doctor’s prohibition. Eventually, it became so serious that it led to a painful septic infection and heart attack.

Despite doctor’s continuous instructions, John continued biting his nails which ruined his fingers and made them insensitive to pain. According to Dr. Vernon, the major causes for this were anxiety and depression. His nails had started bleeding and got so worse that it got a septic infection. No medicines that the doctors suggested worked on him, and thus his fingers were amputated. Unfortunately, John had a heart attack just a few days after his 40th birthday and lost his life.

Well, we hope you have learned a lesson from John’s story. Nail biting is a bad habit and we think you too should stop doing it before it gets too late.

A man from Loni offered an appalling deal to his friend: he asked him to rape his dear wife in lieu of money.

The man literally offered his 26-year-old wife to his friend.

Naresh Kumar had Rs 5,000 loan looming over his head. Since he couldn’t find a solution, he “offered” his wife to his friend.

The victim lodged a police complaint and the investigations revealed:

1. Naresh decided to drink with his friend, Tinku, on September 29.

2. Tinku was given the ‘permission’ to rape his wife. Tinku is accused of touching the accused’s upper body parts. All this while, Naresh was keeping a watch on the main gate, making sure that no one enters.

3. When Tinku was done with her, Naresh went in the bedroom to have sex with his wife. When his wife refused, Naresh threatened that he will kill her brothers.

Naresh and Tinku have been arrested.

And here’s what we think:

Naresh and Tinku are equally at fault. If Naresh ‘offered’ him his wife, Tinku should have denied. How could a man’s own friend rape his wife? Isn’t that against the morality of friendship?

What’s disturbing is the fact that the man ‘offered’ his wife! She is a human being, not a property that you can pass on to your friends. Even if Naresh was vexed about the loan, he should have looked out for better solutions rather than adopting an easy yet disgusting way.
